Jersey City, 08/08/2024- We are thrilled to announce the establishment of African Support Services of New Jersey (ASSNJ), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated

to serving the African community in New Jersey. ASSNJ aims to enhance the social, cultural, and economic well-being of African immigrants through a wide range of programs and services.

African Support Services of New Jersey was founded with the mission of empowering African immigrants to integrate socially, advance economically, and engage civically.

Our vision is to see a prosperous African community that is self-sustaining and actively contributing to the broader society.

Programs Offered by ASSNJ:

- Immigration Assistance Program: Providing free, high-quality legal services for African Community of New Jersey. This includes assistance with immigration services, legal representation, legal referrals and more.

- Employment Support Program: Offering resume writing workshops, job search assistance, interview preparation, and connections to potential employers.

- Cultural Integration Program: Organizing cultural events and community gatherings to foster a sense of belonging and mutual understanding.

- Educational Support Program: Free ESL, Financial and Computer Literacy classes. Additionally, tutoring and mentoring for African immigrant students, academic support, and college preparation workshops.
- Health and Wellness Program: Providing information and resources on healthcare access, mental health services, and healthy living through health fairs, workshops, and seminars.

- Leadership Development Program: Empowering African immigrants to become community leaders through monthly membership meetings, leadership committees, and training sessions.

- Advocacy and Community Mobilization Program: Organizing African immigrant communities to advocate for fair policies and practices at local, state, and national levels.
